We are the event planning arm of PennSEM, and it is our job to bring the reality of social impact to Penn’s campus. We organize talks with influential founders and chief officers of social impact enterprises, informal lunches with professionals bent on bettering the world through business, and dinners with current Wharton MBA students so undergraduates can see what their futures look like. The realm of social impact spans areas from responsible urban planning to combatting climate change to restoring vision in third world countries. We delve into the specific methods innovators are using to combat current social, environmental, and economic issues, and we can connect interested students with professionals and appropriate resources to further any social impact ambitions of their own.

social impact talks
Social Impact Talks: 5 Professors. 5 Talks. 50 Minutes. PennSEM's Social Impact Talks is a dynamic exchange of ideas, information and insight on the most pressing social issues of today. This is a chance to learn about the groundbreaking theories and concepts that are shaping the future of social impact. The Talk features five renowned Penn professors speaking about their work in the social sphere, here to bring you a multi-faceted, eye-opening perspective on social impact.
We invite undergraduates to dine and chat with current Wharton MBA students on their experiences working for startups to think tanks to Wall Street’s finest. Come hear their views on the social impact sphere and what it’s like to be a professional in the business world!
